Warming above freezing this afternoon
PEORIA (25 NEWS) - Temperatures are much warmer out the door this morning, thanks to southwest winds. Further warming is expected through this afternoon, with highs in the mid 30s across central Illinois. Temperatures will warm above freezing despite cloudy skies.

A cold front will move through this afternoon and evening, which may bring a few flurries across the region. Colder air will return by Friday morning, with wind chills near zero. Friday high temperatures are only expected to reach the upper teens/low 20s.

A gradual warming trend, from the 30s to the 40s will begin this weekend. Temperatures will top out in the mid 40s early next week. Active weather will accompany the warmer temperatures, with rain and snow likely for the middle of the week.
