PEORIA (25 NEWS) - Dozens of Ameren Illinois customers were without electricity amid bitter cold temperatures in Peoria Wednesday night, and a spokesperson for the utility did not say when power would be restored.

Ameren Illinois’ outage map shows there’s an outage near North MacArthur Highway, in an area connecting the West Bluff and Peoria’s south side. An Ameren spokesperson said the outage was caused by a malfunction to an underground piece of equipment.

The map indicates 81 customers have been without electricity since 7:35 p.m. The spokesperson did not give an estimate when power would be restored to the area.
