Home total loss after house fire in Hanna City

HANNA CITY (25 NEWS) - A home in Hanna City is a total loss after a fire Friday afternoon.

Logan-Trivoli firefighters were called originally at around 1 p.m. to a fire on the front porch. of a home in the 14000 block of West Farmington Road.

By the time they arrived, the fire had extended to the main level of the home.

As of 4:00 p.m., firefighters are still on scene, according to assistant fire chief Chris Matzke, because of fire still in the basement.

Everyone inside the home escaped.

Matzke says eight departments are on scene: Elmwood, Yates City, Dunlap, Brimfield, Limestone, Timber Hollis and Copperas Creek.

Matzke estimates firefighters will be on scene for a couple of more hours.

A salt truck is on scene to salt the roads because of all the excess water.

The road remains closed.

A post on Facebook says if anyone would like to donate clothes to the family, they will be accepting them at 99 E Vernon in Farmington. Here are the sizes:

Boy’s Size: youth XL shirt, youth 16 pants, 7 shoes

Girl’s Size: junior small shirt, junior 3 pants, women’s 7.5/8 shoes

Woman’s Size: 3x shirts, 3x pants/leggings, women’s size 8 shoes

Men’s Size: XL shirts, 34/38 jeans, men’s 9 wide shoes
