PEORIA (25 NEWS) - A passing clipper system is producing a light wintry mix over western Illinois this morning. The majority of this activity will remain southwest of the 25 News Viewing area, however we cannot rule out a brief period of light rain/snow, which could produce a slick spot or two.

Clipper #2 will slide into central Illinois Friday evening and looks to produce “shovel-able” snow amounts for portions of the area. The heaviest snow amounts are expected west of the Illinois River. Travel may become hazardous Friday evening into early Saturday, so it’s a good idea to plan ahead.
