Downtown Bloomington under a boil order after water main break
BLOOMINGTON (25 NEWS) - Residents and businesses in Downtown Bloomington are under a boil order after a water main break.
In sub-freezing temperatures, water spilled from the broken main at North Center and West Monroe Streets Sunday night.
The water was shut off while crews repaired the break, but a boil order is in effect until sometime Tuesday at the earliest when laboratory sampling confirms water quality is restored, the city’s news release said.
The boil order is for water customers on North Center Street, between West Washington and West Market Streets, also for customers on East and West Washington Street between North Prairie and North Madison Streets.
