PEORIA (25 NEWS) - A new Veterans Affairs Center in Florida is going to be developed by Peoria-based Cullinan Properties.

The 144,000 square foot facility is slated to begin construction before year’s end and is scheduled to open in the second half of 2023, according to a release from Cullinan Properties.

The roughly 20-acre site is in Florida’s Hillsborough County at the southwest quadrant of Temple Terrace Highway and Davis Road. It will include gardens, courtyards and walking paths for patients, guests and employees.

“Cullinan Properties puts an exceptional amount of forethought and detail into projects, carefully planning each step in the process.” said Michael Owens, President of Medical and Office with Cullinan Properties. “We take a true partnership approach with the medical community to design and create state-of-the-art, lasting medical facilities that will meet the needs of its patients for decades to come.”

“The state-of-the-art facility will care for our nation’s service men and women, providing outpatient mental health care,” said Stephanie Webster, Senior Vice President of Development for Cullinan Properties. “Our design creates a warm, welcoming and therapeutic environment that supports healing and patient by incorporating natural light, promoting socialization and connecting to community.”

The project team includes architecture and design firm Leo A. Daly; general contractor Hoar Construction; civil engineer Prosser; and property management firm Lincoln Harris CSG.
