UPDATE (3:13 p.m.) - Illinois State Police said a man jogging Friday morning in Chillicothe was struck and killed by a pickup truck.

The crash happened about 8:15 a.m. on Illinois Route 29 and Hardscrabble Road. Police said the jogger, Jonah N. Koponen, 23, of Phoenix, Arizona, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Price was struck by a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Timothy J. Price, 44, of Sparland.

Authorities are still investigating.

PEORIA COUNTY (25 NEWS) - Illinois State Police confirmed one person died Friday morning after being struck by a car in Chillicothe.

Police said the person was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash that happened about 8:15 a.m. on Illinois Route 29, near Hardscrabble Road.

All lanes of Route 29 were closed for about five hours during the investigation, according to police.

No other information was available.
