CENTRAL ILLINOIS (25 NEWS) - Three area teams saw their state hopes continue Saturday in the IHSA High School Football Playoffs.

In 5A, Morton continues its historic season, defeating Mahomet 40-28 behind running back Seth Glatz’s 401 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns. Saturday marked the first time in school history that the Potters have advanced to the state Final Four.

In 6A, Washington’s season comes to an ending, losing to Crete-Monee 53-24.

In 2A, Tri-Valley survives the battle of the unbeatens, defeating Farmington 34-12.

In 1A, Ridgeview-Lexington’s ‘Cinderella Story’ continues as the Mustangs beat the No. 1 seed A-Town 52-12. Ridgeview-Lexington started the season 2-4 and are now Final Four bound in Class 1A.

In volleyball, Normal West defeats Joliet Catholic to earn third place in state in 3A.

Also Saturday, Normal West’s Marnie Howard earning fifth in the 1-meter diving event at the State Swimming and Diving Finals.
