UAW plans vote on Deere’s revised ‘last, best and final offer’
PEORIA (25 NEWS) -The strike that started in mid-October continues at Deere and Company even as the United Auto Workers union says the company has revised its “last, best and final offer.”
The UAW released a statement Friday saying the revised offer includes “modest modifications” to the last tentative agreement reached in early November, but union workers rejected the proposal which would have given them 10% raises.
“As a result, the UAW will present the Company’s offer for ratification and, as has been the case throughout the bargaining process, will support the outcome as determined by our members,” the union said.
There was nothing said Friday when union members might vote on Deere’s latest offer.
More than 10,000 Deere employees are on strike at 12 of Deere’s facilities in Illinois, Iowa, and Kansas.
