MCLEAN COUNTY (25 News) - The McLean County Health Department will start offering COVID vaccines for kids age 5 to 11 on Tuesday.

For now, its by appointment only, and those appointments can be made right now through the department’s call center.

Grossinger Motors Arena will host the first kid clinics from 9 am-11:30 AM this Tuesday the 9th, and 8:30-11:30 am on Tuesday, November 16th.

“It’s a little bit different than vaccinating adults,” said Jessica McKnight of the McLean County Health Department. “We want to provide a comfortable environment, limiting the number of individuals present. Just to make it an environment that is a little more welcoming and comfortable for children of this age range,” McKnight added.

Kids will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and again, it is appointment only.

If you’d like to reserve a spot, the call center is open from 9 AM-4 PM Monday through Friday at 309-888-5600.
