Here is an old picture from the Captain Jinks and Salty Sam Show. I would watch this show RELIGIOUSLY as a kid and always wanted to go see them and be in the audience. Never got this picture back in the day, but my Dad found this at an auction a long time ago and knew it would make my day & it did! Thought I'd share it with everyone!

I was on that show. Wow thats been years ago.

TY ..I used to watch that show also ..am now 49 yrs old..whew seems like a lifetime ago ...when things were so much more peaceful ...

This was my favorite show as a kid. Wish they had some old shows on DVD for sale.

I won first place in the tv pow show on the captain jenks and salty sam show when i was a kid! that was a great show!

I was on that show as a cub scout they showed a picture I drew and colored of the s.s.Albatross

I'm also 49 and grew up on this show. I begged my mom to take me to see them in person here in Bloomington at a fast food place (now a title loan place) on business 66 before it was Veteran's/55. I would love to see a video of this...anyone know of 1

My mom worked at the station at the time Capt. Jinx, aka Stan Lonigan worked there. He was usually asleep on the couch in the vistors lounge when we were there. Sometimes he would let us sit on his lap in the annoucers booth while he was working.

I LOVED Capt. Jinx, and Salty Sam. I still have my Mickey Mouse ears that they autographed in 1978 at the Manito Labor Day Celebration. They are proudly displayed in my china cabinet!

got to shake hands in Canton Illinois will never forget

i was on the show around 1965. back then we really only had 3 (local) tv channels we could get, so the FEW which were geared toward children meant an awful lot! the Capt'n was very funny- though i could tell some of it was going over my head. =)

Loved the program!! Make a DVD of the program and I will definitely buy it. Now 49, I have lots of great memories. I'm having so much fun reading all the comments.

I lived in Marquette Heights, and I remember on one of my birthdays as a child my mother took me there with my friends. I am now 53. I still remember that wonderful birthday.

I too was on this show in the 70's and was wondering how to get a copy? Does anyone have any ideas?
