DeeMack Wins 7 3A IESA Volleyball Tournament

Nicole Welch lead the Dee Mack Lady Braves with 6 aces and 7service points to beat Lockport Kelvin Grove to win the IESA 7-3A Volleyball tournament at Assumption, IL on March 11, 2008.. This is the first State Championship for Dee Mack Jr. High.

The team’s defense and quickness makes up for the lack of height with only 2 on the team being over 5’4”. Nikki Welch at 5’7” and Jamie Grethey at 5’6”.

Their love of the game, excellent coaching by Terri Childers and Leann Anderson and the support of families and community helped them to realize their goal of being the best they can be, one game at a time.

This winning attitude lead them to a 7th Grade -3A 1st place by beating out Lockport Kelvin Grove by scores 25/7 & 25/20. Dee Mack’s record is 27-1 with a loss only to Hartsburg Emden early in the season.

Dee Mack’s 8th grade girls volleyball team is State Bound next Saturday in Decatur, IL.

Congratulations Lady Braves on a great season! Thank You for the great memories. You guys ROCK!
