Fake cop pulls over victim in rural Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

The McLean County Sheriff's Office is asking everyone to be on the lookout for a fake police officer. 

On Saturday, deputies responded to a call involving a man impersonating a police officer. The man used flashing lights to get the victim to pull over, then approached their vehicle. The suspect attempted to subdue the victim, but was unable to do so, and the victim was able to drive away.

The suspect vehicle is described as a four door black car with blue lights in the front and back windows. The suspect is described as a thin, white man in his 40s. The incident happened on 700 N Road. between 1900 E and 1600 E. 

Local fire departments cannot identify the man as a member of their agencies. If you are suspicious about a vehicle pulling you over, call 911 immediately.
