UPDATE: West Bluff murder victim shot in abdomen, back

PEORIA, Ill. (WEEK) -

UPDATE: The Peoria County Coroner said Terence Stone was shot once in the abdomen and twice in the lower back.

The caliber of the weapon is unknown.

Toxicology is pending, but the coroner said it will not change the cause of death. 


12:15 AM UPDATE: The Peoria County Coroner has identified the victim as 20-year-old Terence Stone of Peoria. 

He was taken to OSF St. Francis Medical Center with life threatening injuries, after being found shot in the 900 block of Nebraska.

He died around 10:05 PM.

It is unclear how many times Stone was shot.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.


UPDATE (10:20PM): A Peoria Police Lieutenant on scene confirmed with our reporters that the victim of the W. Nebraska shooting was pronounced dead at the hospital. He was described as a male in his 20's. 


Peoria Police Public Information Officer Amy Dotson confirmed a shooting Sunday evening on the 900 block of W. Nebraska Avenue in Peoria.

Dotson reports the shooting, which took place at 9:16PM near the intersection of Nebraska and Gale, involved a single male shot. She described his injuries as 'serious', but would not elaborate.
