LEXINGTON, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

An education fund was started for the baby daughter of a 25-year-old Chenoa woman killed in a car crash on Interstate 55 last week.

Kaitlyn Erdman died of head injured after her vehicle collided with a semi-tractor trailer truck near Lexington Friday evening. Erdman was the driver of her vehicle and was seat-belted. Her infant daughter was treated and released at an area hospital.

Erdman was in her third year of the nursing program at Methodist in Peoria and also worked as an OB Tech at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington. She also volunteered for the Peoria Rescue Mission.

Memorials can be made to the Education Fund for Tinley. A celebration of life is set for 1 p.m. Thursday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington.

The crash is still under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
