Book Sale Supporting Literacy Programs

Posted: Updated:
NORMAL, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

This weekend in Normal, Books to Benefit is hosting their semi annual book sale, an event that benefits literacy programs in McClain County. The programs provide young adults and people learning the English  language with classes on reading and writing, and job training. Organizers say the event's had a great turnout so far, and record sales numbers. Books to Benefit President Jackie Langhoff says the event's success can be attributed to support from the community.

"We have more than doubled our sales in two years. And we are just growing, we can not get enough books here. People are just bringing us, 10, 12, 19 boxes full of books", said Langhoff.

The Literacy Book Sale continues through Sunday. On Sunday,  they will also be having the book lovers bag sale, where shoppers can fill up an entire grocery bag with books for just five dollars.

Books to Benefits is located at 360 Wylie drive, Suite 700 Normal, Illinois  61761. Phone: (309) 531-8320
