State Farm board re-elects chairman

Posted: Updated:

Despite all the changes, State Farm is keeping the chairman and CEO position intact.

Michael Tipsord was re-elected this week at the insurance giant's annual meeting.  He joined in 1988.

But Things have been changing elsewhere at State Farm as the company tries to sell its 89-year-old original headquarters building downtown and closes other facilities across the U.S. over the next four years.

890 non-management IT jobs were cut in Bloomington earlier this year, followed by a job fair.  State Farm hosted a job fair last month to fill 200 to 300 full time mostly entry-level positions.

State Farm says the Bloomington based work force is still around 15,000.
