Yet another annual festival is alive and kicking! Holy Family church in Peoria kicked off their 38th annual Heritage Days Festival last night.
People from all over Peoria got to enjoy festival rides, carnival games.....and FOOD! Who doesn't love food? How about a chance to win big MONEY! There is a 3000 dollar raffle happening and you have a chance to win!
"so it actually originated because of so many different cultures that belonged to this church. Everybody came together and provided different parts of their heritage, different foods, events and all came together and that's where Heritage Day's originated from," Ed Maubach said who is festival chair.
Autumn Chaplin, an attendee said, "It's real nice. It doesn't matter who you are or what you do. Everybody can get here and have fun."
The festival kicked off yesterday and runs until tomorrow starting at 11 A.M.and runs to 10 P.M. Anyone who buys a wristband for tomorrow will automatically be in the running to win a bike. All proceeds from the festival go to the church.
