A Pekin man will only face drug charges after a large contingent of police responded to his home after incendiary materials were found.

Pekin Police Public Information Officer Billie Ingles said Brian Collier, 53, was arrested after police served a methamphetamine-related drug warrant on him at his S. 13th St. apartment, near the intersection with Broadway, on Wednesday.

Ingles said Collier had incendiary materials, but not a device as originally believed. The Peoria Police Bomb Squad was called to the scene after the materials were found. Collier will not be charged for possessing the materials.

Nearby residents were evacuated as police searched the house Wednesday. No one was injured in the incident.
