A heavy law enforcement presence was on scene at a house at 13th and Broadway in Pekin late Wednesday morning after an "incendiary device" was found.
Pekin Police Public Information Officer Billie Ingles said police were executing a search warrant on drug charges on the residence when the device was found. The immediate vicinity was evacuated, and the Peoria Bomb Squad was called in.
One man was taken from the house to the police station. Ingles said the man was arrested in connection with the drug warrant. The device was deactivated, but it is unclear if the bomb squad detonated the device or if it was never active.
Ingles did not release the name of the man arrested.
