Springfield, Ill. (WEEK) -- Upon preliminary investigation by Illinois State Police, a gray GMC Envoy was traveling West bound on IL-104. At the same time, a gray Ford Focus was traveling East bound at the same location approximately one half mile west of Ranson Road. For unknown reasons the GMC Envoy crossed over the center line, where the Ford Focus seemed to swerve to avoid impact with the Envoy resulting in a collision on the front passenger side of the vehicles. The driver and both passengers in the GMC Envoy were pronounced dead on the scene by the Morgan County Coroners office. The driver of the Focus was transported by helicopter Memorial Hospital in Springfield.
No charges have been issued at this time until the investigation is complete.
