Cops on a Rooftop raises money for Special Olympics

Posted: Updated:
PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

If you drove by a Dunkin Donuts on Friday you may have noticed police officers standing on the rooftop!

Starting at 5 a.m. area police officers camped out on top of the donut shops to raise money for Special Olympics Illinois.

Small crowds gathered below to cheer on the officers, donate, and get a free donut.

"Being given the opportunity to give back to the community is seeing we're going to jump on. It's just our way of paying back to the community as much as they do for us," said Officer Justin Egen.

The fundraiser ended at noon.
