BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

The city of Bloomington may take out some of the traffic signals downtown.

Public Works is looking for feedback from the public and downtown stakeholders on whether the traffic signals on Front Street at Main and Center should stay or go. The department said it would take between $15,000 and $20,000 to repair the old signals, originally installed in the 1940s and 1950s.

Public Works said traffic at the intersections have also been steadily decreasing since the 1980s.
