New leadership at Bloomington Police Department

Posted: Updated:

There's new leadership at the helm at the Bloomington Police Department.  Assistant Police Chief Clay Wheeler was sworn in this week as the new police chief.   He said as a 27-year veteran of the department he's had a chance to see what works.

"In my mind the most important thing for me to do as chief is try to continue with an atmosphere for the employees to keep doing the fantastic work that they been doing," he said.

Chief  Wheeler replaces Brendan Heffner , who resigned to become U.S. Marshall for the Central District of  Illinois.
