BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

A 16-year-old teenager was arrested Monday in connection with shots fired at a vehicle filled with people.

The Bloomington Police Department said police responded to the 300 block of Riley Dr. just after 8:30 p.m. Monday on a report of multiple shots fired. A 20-year-old man on scene said he and four of his friends were parked inside of a vehicle when it was hit by gunshots several times.

No injuries were reported.

A short time later, several witnesses reported hearing the gunshots and seeing a white SUV driving west. The vehicle was stopped in a traffic stop at Veterans Parkway and Clearwater Ave. a short time later. A 16-year-old with a gun fled the area, police said. A short time later, he was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should contact BPD Detective Todd McClusky at (309) 434-2380 or Detective Tim Power at (309) 434-2579.
