Peoria police investigating daytime shots fired incident

PEORIA, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

The Peoria Police Department is interviewing  "persons of interest" after an early afternoon shots fired incident on Peoria's south side Monday. 

Peoria Police Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said police responded to a ShotSpotter Alert on S. Helen St. at 1:07 p.m, near the Peoria Public Library's Lincoln Branch. 

Shots were reportedly fired from a vehicle on S. Helen. An officer spotted a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle's description on McBean a short time later. Three people were found in the vehicle. 

No arrests have been made as of 2:45 p.m. Monday. 

Nobody was reported injured in connection with the shots fired incident. The incident is under investigation.
