Driver in fatal DUI hit-and-run sentenced to 30 years

The driver in a DUI incident which resulted in the death of a teenager was sentenced to 30 years in prison Monday.

Steven Mccuen, 32, of Bloomington, was sentenced Monday in McLean County Court for failure to report an accident resulting in a death and aggravated DUI resulting in a death. 

Dale Nelson, 16, was riding his bicycle on Six Points Road around 8:30 p.m. on August 14, 2017 when Mccuen hit him and left the scene. Nelson later died on August 21 at OSF Saint Francis in Peoria. 

Mccuen had previous DUI cases in both McLean and Logan counties.
