Fire tore through a home in Peoria Sunday afternoon, quickly rendering it a total loss.
Neighbors at the scene said no one lived at the home in the 1000 block of W. McClure avenue, and fire officials confirmed that no one was inside the home at the time of the fire, which started around 1:30PM.
"All searches of the house so far have come back negative," explained Battalion Chief Jim Bachman. "And the report came that they weren't aware of anybody inside."
Fire crews battled to put out flareups on the exterior of the home and the second story.
Crews had to deal with downed power lines, partially melted due to the heat.
