Today folks got a blast from the past during 'Morton Civil War Days,' during their annual civil war reenactments.
At no cost, the program brought guests a front row to experience where soldiers slept, what they ate, even how they endured battle. Morton Civil War Days offers history up close, teaching folks about infantry and artillery, cannons, woodworking, and anything associated with the life of a Civil War soldier.
"We want people to come and get a feel of what it was like during the civil war. The hardship the soldier's had to endure and daily camp life and some of the uniforms and equipment that they had to wear. Appreciation for history here, knows no bounds. People do this because they love it and they wanna share that history with other people that love it. " said Alex Timmerman, the event's Director.
The program welcomes donations and volunteers. If you're interested, you can find information here.
