Supporting a cause never tasted so good - that's how one man described Sunday's third annual Wing Fest at downtown's at the Peoria riverfront.
Several vendors came to offer their spiciest, tastiest, finger licking chicken wings in an effort to give back to the community.
One flavor that had guests coming back for more were Peanut butter Stout wings made by Industry Brewing Co.
But most importantly, the event was an opportunity to raise money for a cause.
Each year an organization is chosen to receive a portion of the event's proceeds and this year, the 'EPIC' organization was selected. EPIC is a non-profit that serves adults with developmental disabilities.
"These are absolutely amazing individuals. They have a wide variety of disabilities that they need a little bit of help to overcome." said the organization's 'Development Coordinator'
EPIC offers group homes, host homes, where families can open up their hearts and homes to an individual, a computer lab, an art program, and employment services to enrich the lives of adults with disabilities.
At the end of Wing Fest, awards were given to the winning restaurants for the following categories" hottest wings, most traditional, exotic, and best in show.
