EAST PEORIA, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

Police and the Tazewell County Coroner's Office were on the scene after a woman's body was found in an East Peoria gas station early Sunday morning.

William Wright, an employee, says he arrived around 8 a.m. to the Mobile Gas station on 1785 Meadow Ave. Wright noticed a bathroom was locked, despite another co worker telling him no one had come in.

Wright  tried to unlock the door and was able to get it open about an inch or so. He called his coworker over for help, and they were able to peer inside to see a body on the floor. Wright immediately called police.

East Peoria police and fire responded to the scene. The door reportedly had to be broken down. The body of a 27-year-old woman was found, officials said.

The gas station was closed for a few hours Sunday while officials were on the scene investigating. The business re-opened around noon.

The case is still under investigation. The East Peoria Police Department said no foul play is suspected in a news release. Her body showed no signs of trauma. The woman's identity is not currently known.

An autopsy is scheduled for May 7.
