Are you looking to get rid of old electronics, like your 1970's TV or your old-school radio?
You can recycle and drop them off at the Town of Normal Public Works. One staff member we talked to said they offer this service because they don't want these electronics to end up in landfills.
"We load it in the trailer and then a company out of Chicago comes, takes it, then they take all the useful components out of the TVs. Then they make use of them some other way...and they get rid of all the waste," said Chad Moody with the department.
The items do not have to be working to be recycled. Items containing freon, such as mini refrigerators and dehumidifiers, are not accepted.
Staff said they have been offering this service for about 10 years and they also said they are open Monday through Friday from 7:00AM to 2:00PM, for those interested in dropping off electronics.
