A Bradley University pre-med student died of a single gunshot wound to the head in an early Sunday shooting on Peoria's West Bluff, autopsy results show.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said 18-year-old Nasjay Murry of Chicago most likely died instantly after suffering the wound. She was pronounced dead at 3:30 a.m. Sunday inside the house at 1821 W. Bradley Ave. in Peoria.
Anthony Polnitz, 22, of Peoria, was shot three times during the same incident. Polnitz was shot once in the face and twice in the back. He also likely died instantly, Harwood said.
Autopsy results on both will likely not be available for a few weeks, but the causes of death are not expected to change.
The double homicide remains under investigation.
Another woman suffered a non life-threatening gun wound. She was treated and released from a local hospital.
Just hours earlier, John Bell III died in a shooting on Peoria's South Side. It is still unclear if that shooting was related to the Bradley Ave. incident.
