A local coach and his family lost everything in a late Friday night house fire.

Limestone Head Basketball Coach and Asst. Baseball Coach Eddie Mathews was in the hospital Saturday, being treated for smoke inhalation.

Limestone's Head Baseball Coach, Derek Renz, tells us that the rest of the Mathews family is safe and okay, saying the Red Cross has been assisting them.

In addition, Renz started a Go-Fund-Me page Friday - which as of the writing of this article, has already raised over $8,000. The family says it is also seeking gift cards to help - those donations can be coordinated through Coach Renz via email: drenz@limestone310.org
