Early morning snow in the northern half of our viewing area caused numerous accidents, and caused part of a busy interstate to be shut down early Wednesday.

Reports of accidents started to come in just before 6 Wednesday morning, along Interstate 80 in both Bureau and LaSalle Counties.

Other accidents were later reported in Livingston Counties.

The LaSalle County Sheriff confirmed to 25 News that part of Interstate 39, near the Tonica exit had to be shut down for a time due to other accidents.

We reached out to both the Bureau and Livingston County Sheriff Departments about the accidents, but no information was provided. They do add that no roads were shut down due to them.
