Posted: Updated:

WEEK-TV (NBC), the dominant #1 news station in Peoria, Illinois has a rare opportunity for an energetic and creative morning news co-anchor. After 30 years at the anchor desk, our current anchor has retired.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced journalist who is ready to connect with our audience in Central Illinois wake up every morning in the know! Our next morning anchor will have solid breaking news and reporting skills, but can also have fun and will be involved in our community.

Though a dominant legacy station, we are not sitting still, making great improvements to the facility as well as our news products and services. Our anchors are newsroom leaders who help mentor and grow producers and reporters.

In addition to anchoring, we’re looking for a journalist who can develop sources; someone who isn’t afraid to head out into the field and break the big stories. The successful candidate will also have editorial oversight in the daily newscast product.

Peoria is located within a short drive to Chicago, St Louis and Indianapolis so we are well-connected and centrally located in the state.

Excellent time-management skills are key in this deadline-driven business. Applicants must also embrace the multi-platform approach of today’s newsroom.
