After two successful weekends in the Twin Cities, March Madness will play in Peoria for the next two weekends.
That means fans for eight Illinois basketball teams will be in town, cheering for their teams in this weekend's state tournament.
With those fans in town, that means dollar signs for both the city of Peoria, and local businesses.
That equals up to millions of dollars.
"We have some great partners in the area with our partners with our hotels and restaurants that provide exceptional service, and are very appreciative of the high school association, and the events that come in," said Don Welch, who is the President and CEO of the Peoria Area Convention Bureau.
The March Madness experience opens on Thursday, along with the three point competition.
We will preview some of the newest exhibits at the march madness experience on Thursday.
The state tournament begins on Friday at Carver Arena.
