Police at Glasford school Friday following "unsubstantiated threat"

GLASFORD, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

The Peoria County Sheriff's Office will have a presence at Illini Bluffs in Glasford Friday after an "unsubstantiated threat" circulated.

In a Facebook message, Superintendent Roger Alvey said there is no confirmed threat to school safety despite the rumors currently making the rounds in the school, on social media and in the community. Alvey said the rumor is the same incident reported and investigated previously on Feb. 15.

The school said it is remaining in contact with the sheriff's office regarding the incident and has no new information at this time.

"In order to ease concerns of students and parents, we will have a police presence at school tomorrow. Again, let me stress, we have no new information that would indicate there is any concern for student safety," said Alvey's post.
