Junior Achievement recognizes local business and celebrates record-setting event

Posted: Updated:

Junior Achievement saw a record breaking, sell-out crowd for its 2018 Illinois Business Hall of Fame ceremony. It was a chance to honor some of the very students who benefit from Junior Achievement, along with the business leaders and mentors who support this program.

Junior Achievement empowers and prepares young people to succeed later in life by focusing on work-readiness and teaching financial literacy skills.

Our own Caitlin Knute served as the emcee.

Among those honored with the 2018 Central Illinois Business Hall of Fame Laureate Awards, Mike Cullinan, Chairman of the Board for United Contractors Midwest; Artist and Entrepreneur Preston Jackson; and Andrew Rand the CEO of Advanced Medical Transport. Retired Tax Specialist Nancy Nunn was the Volunteer of the Year. And Teacher of the Year was awarded to Ron Shobert, the Principal of Peoria Christian Middle School.

WEEK-TV/WHOI-TV was a proud media partner and laureate video producer.
