What was believed to be a $50 winning scratch-off ticket turned out to be worth a good deal more.
Tyson DeJaynes of Abingdon scratched off an Ultimate Crossword ticket recently and headed to work, thinking he'd only won $50. When he checked the ticket later, he realized he had actually won $75,000.
DeJaynes' grandmother bought the ticket for him at the Casey's General Store, 101 S. Monroe, in Abingdon. He plans to share the winnings with his grandparents and pay off his car.
