A fire tore through two Peoria homes early Sunday morning.
The Peoria fire department received a call around 8am about a structure fire on the 400 block of East Thrush Avenue.
Firefighters were able to contain flames to the original house and extinguish it within 20 minutes, but the fire captain on scene said both homes face up to $100,000 worth of damage.
There were no reports of injuries.
"This is a vacant structure. All reports are that nobody was living in the home and we are still doing our do diligence there and gonna have to pick this home apart piece by piece. We have excavating crews coming in to tear down the structure today." said Captain Jim Bachman of the Peoria Fire Dept.
Bachman says at the height of the incident there were about 28 fire department personnel on the scene helping to contain the flames.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
