BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

UPDATE 2: Bloomington Police said the father brought the baby to the police station. There were no charges filed against him.

UPDATE: Bloomington police said the baby has been located. Police are following up on the case.

The Bloomington Police Department is looking for a man they say forcibly took his child from her mother without permission.

Police responded to a domestic call at 2213 Case St. around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Police said Darien D. Davis, 28, may have battered the mother of the two week old girl and then forcibly took the child without permission.

Davis reportedly said he was leaving the state with the baby. Davis did not take any child care supplies or food for the child when the child was taken. The child is currently breastfed.

Davis is currently driving a white 1999 Buick Park Avenue with tinted windows and Illinois license plate V974578. Davis is a black man, 5'10", 235 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information should call 911 immediately, or the Bloomington Police dispatch center at (309) 820-8888.
