Bloomington Police find woman dead after investigating domestic violence call

UPDATE: Bloomington Police found a woman dead after they responded to a domestic violence call in the 600 of N. McLean St. in Bloomington Monday afternoon. Shortly after officers arrived on scene, they took a male into custody. McLean County Coroner's pronounced the woman dead just after 3:00 P.M.

Police are no releasing any further details at this time, but said the investigation is still ongoing. No other suspects are being sought at this time. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. Police ask that anyone with information in this case contact them at the Bloomington Police Department.


The Bloomington Police Department is currently responding to an "unknown problem call" in the 600 block of N. McLean. 

For the safety of citizens and officers, police are asking people to stay away from the area until the situation is resolved. 

Police are also asking people to refrain posting about the situation on social media, as it could negatively impact the incident or the safety of those involved. 

Police said they will inform the public when it is safe to return. 

A Bloomington police desk sergeant did not have further information about the incident, but said a news release would likely come out later.
