Accumulating snow Monday, with more to follow

Posted: Updated:
EAST PEORIA, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

Monday afternoon/evening expect a system to move through that will bring some decent accumulation.

Snow showers will start after noon Monday and continue through the evening.

Areas along the I-74 corridor can expect around 3 inches. The system should track a little to our north, near I-80, where folks will see a bit higher accumulation (roughly 4 to 6 inches). Areas south of I-74 can expect accumulations in the 1 to 3 inch range.

A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect Monday at noon and continue through midnight. Use caution on the roads during the evening commute Monday.

The chance of snow returns nearly every day of the upcoming week.

Tuesday night into Wednesday we'll see some more snow. This system is being watched closely for the exact track and accumulation totals.

The bulk of accumulation should remain southward, but we will see some additional accumulation from this system.

Another chance of snow returns Friday.
