Dream Center shuttle service to help with Kroger closings

Posted: Updated:
PEORIA, Ill. (WEEK) -- -

In the wake of the two Peoria Kroger stores closing, the Peoria Dream Center and City of Peoria teamed up to design a new shuttle service for both the South Side and East Bluff.

And the best part - those shuttles are free to use!

The Dream Center is funding the shuttle service, which launches on Monday (February 5) with help of donations.

Keep an eye out for the big blue buses, which will take alternate days on two routes, Monday through Friday between 1:00 and 4:00 in the afternoon.

"We are not in the bus business," explained Andy King, Executive Director for the Dream Center, "but we do have a school bus, and we have amazing volunteers, and we can call on a driver or two and see what we could do and meet this need."

The shuttles will be running through the end of March, and the routes could change based on community feedback.

You can look up stop schedules, route information, and give input on route changes through the Dream Center's website.
