Students have returned after LeRoy Junior Senior High School was evacuated Friday for what officials say was a false threat.
In a tweet, LeRoy CUSD 2 said all students are safe. In a Facebook post, principal Jeff Baughman he school administration received an e-mail just after 10 a.m. indicating there were unspecified "devices" in the building. Students were evacuated at 10:08 a.m. and emergency responders were notified.
Law enforcement, firefighters and school administrators swept the building, and nothing dangerous was discovered. Students began to return to class around 11:15 a.m.
The McLean County Sheriff's Office and LeRoy Police Department are working to identify the source of the threat.
All of our students are safe.
LeRoy Junior Senior High School received a random threat this morning that by all appearances is SPAM.
