BARTONVILLE, Ill. (WEEK) -- -
A freight liner that rolled over on an Interstate 474 onbound ramp Wednesday blocked traffic in the area for over an hour.
The Illinois State Police said the truck was pulling a trailer full of rock salt when it made a turn off of eastbound U.S. Route 24 onto the I-474 westbound near Bartonville around 10:30 a.m. The truck's load shifted, causing the truck and trailer to roll onto its passenger side. The rock salt then spilled onto the road.
The driver, a 60-year-old man from Speer, was taken to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The truck was righted by crews, and cleanup of the rock salt is continuing.
There are no citations issued.
