There's a way you can help make Christmas merrier for some families living in McLean County. For about 30 years, Children's Home + Aid has adopted families, providing holiday gifts for them.
Volunteers say the need is much greater this year compared to 2016. For the past few weeks they've been wrapping presents for the 180 families.
Donors have purchased items, but so far they are short gifts for 40 families.
"Each person list everything of their own sizes, the case worker helps them do that. And at the very bottom of each person's page there's a small space for a wish list. So it's not toys we're really interested in, our clients don't have shoes that fit," said Children's Home + Aid Volunteer Stacie Killian.
Volunteers need the gifts by December 15th in order to make sure they're delivered in time.
If you don't want to do the shopping, volunteers are happy to do it for you. You can just simply send a monetary donation. Folks interested in helping them out can call the Children's Home + Aid at 846-8242
