We could have more manufacturing jobs on the way to McLean county... possibly between 300 and 500 over a decade.
The president of Brandt Industries confirmed the company has purchased a plant near Hudson. He says the company is waiting to finish a tax incentive plan with Unit 5 School District and the McLean County Board. He adds Heartland Community College and Normal Township have already signed off on it. One Unit 5 School Board member says he's excited about the proposal.
"The possibility of another company coming in to that factory and maintaining the value of that factory is definitely a step in the right direction," said Unit 5 School Board Member Barry Hitchins.
Brandt Industries is a Canadian-based company that produces grain carts, drills and conveyors. The company president says they were interested in the location because of the corn grown in Illinois and the skilled work force.
