The Illinois CancerCare Foundation held it's 8th annual fundraising event, CURE-ageous at the Par-a-Dice Hotel on Friday.
The Illinois CancerCare Foundation serves cancer patients across the Central Illinois area.
In addition to a wine pull and silent auction, members of the medical community in Central Illinois were nominated by their peers for several awards. Co-chair of the annual event, Brian Burlli says the money raised at CUREageous will help fund local clinical research.
"The reason why I've been apart of this event is because cancer effects a lot of people in my life-- my father, brother-in-law, father-in-law," Burlli said. "The revenue we generate through this event will help with cutting edge research to help find cures and therapies for treatment of cancer," Burlli said.
The event was hosted by 25 News' evening anchor, Caitlin Knute-- Knute has served as the emcee for CURE-ageous twice-- 2016 being the previous year Knute served as emcee.
